    Default WHB services

Hi! I'm new in here. Therefore I can't comment much on WHB services.

But I would like to know, how WHB services to you all. Mind to share some of the good or bad experiences?

I read a lot of user reviews from different web hosting reviews sites. No doubt, there are good and bad. I noticed most of those bad reviews are lies on emails, supports, down time, account suspension, account access problem and consultant manner problem.

How about you? Face this problem before?

Do you have any advice for me to avoid any of these problems happen to me?

For my own experience, support level is considered quite ok. Most of my tickets replied within 12-24 hours, which consider not bad for the different time zone, even though some of the replies took days.

Information wise, I downloaded and visited almost every guides or manuals or tutorial regarding how to use the services or tools provided by WHB. To be frank, it isn’t that informative. At least it didn’t help much for a newbie like me, especially the whm_readme.pdf file. I guess it’s more likely a manual for WHB instead of reseller.

Other than that, there is some wrong information given by the plan features and live support. Especially for the domains, I asked a lot of times in live support regarding the domains ownership before I register. They told me, the free domains ownership belongs to me. But I just found out, the free domains ownership actually belongs to WHB instead of me. I knew some of the hosting company doing this as well; I’m actually ok with it. I just not happy with the wrong info given, it just make me feel like being cheated.

Sorry for writing such long and wasted your time. Just to clarify, I didn’t mean anything bad. I just would like to share what I felt and would like to have someone share their experience with me.

To be frank, actually there still a lot more I can share. Just I don’t wish to make this longer, because it’s long enough.

Domain ownership stays with WHB until you leave then I think it states that you can pay a $15 transfer fee to own it yourself.

Check out the review area in the forums. Lots of people have posted reviews good or bad.

My only gripe is the amount of downtime since I've been here. One was due to DDOS, and 2 others due to hardware failure (1 WHB Drive, and 1 FITX router). Other than that support has been great, and they are very flexible and personable. They actually care about what people think of them and work hard to make things right.

I don't work for them, I'm just a satisfied user.

Thanks for the replied. Just to clarify again, I just would like to know more about how's WHB users felt about their services and any advice for a new user like me.

No matter it's bad or good, it's something worth to share around, right? I'm not here to collect bad experiences, i also love to know some great experiences as well. I believed, if you don't like their services, sure you won't be here already. Hehe.

But sometime it's good to let WHB understand how user feel, that's how they understand more about us and work better not only for us, but also to their future users.

I've been with WHB for a little over 2 years now and I couldn't be happier with their service (considering the amount I'm paying).

From my point of view, this is budget hosting and thus will bear some of the "common" problems such as overselling, high server loads as well as delayed tech support (due to overwhelming requests).

But IMHO, WHB has been doing a pretty good job in ensuring and maintaining these problems at a minimal level. Server reboots/diagnostics are done almost immediately in case of a server going down and they do respond and listen to customer's feedbacks.

If anyone is thinking of running a critical website with high visitors or a site that is crucial in terms of uptime - then do consider other alternatives such as semi-dedicated hosting, VPS or a dedicated server.

In terms of value for money - I would say that WHB definitely have uphold its end of the bargain.

Oh btw, I'm still on their "mini" package with 3GB of hard disk space. A far cry from their minimum 300GB offering now... but then again who can use up all 300GB of the space without violating the T&C and AUP?

Hi Jef.. thanks a lot for the offer... but I'm really happy with what I have now... to me those are just figures that is damn near impossible for me to use anyway... lolz... even with 3GB of space now; I have no idea what to do with it!

    Thanks again...

My view on WHB is that they are great. Hardly any downtime for me and great support.

I use the budget package which is great value for money and has superb features which most other companies don't allow the customers to have.

I have several sites for a few years now and have really been pleased with the service. Though I can't help thinking that WHB should be "putting names to faces" - not literally, but letting us get to know the guys in the back room who support us. Let us see their sidde of the story.

I have had a few downtimes, especiall DB errors but by the time I get a report from a Forum user the problem has been resolved. High usage does give wear & tear so we have to expect that on non dedicated servers. The good thing is that WHB report server status and give updates and quick response. Which is why I moved all my stuff from another paid server host.

I do agree though that the knowledge base is really sparse I put it down to more time spent with tickets, maintenance etc. (as should be) than with other items. However, the amount of people who post here come in various stages of expertise, so why not have volunteers to update the knowledgebase? It would take only one person to check over the details before allowing the information to go live. Even better if it is in non-techie speak and based at the ground level for us who just do not know about such things.

We are developing wiki.webhostingbuzz.com. It should help in reducing our work load and with community effort the place can be a heaven of knowledge.

I have only been with WHB for a few months so far, but on a whole I am pretty happy with the service. I had some initial issues with performance which has been resolved since I was moved to a less crowded server (offered by WHB to ensure I was happy).

Overall though, they are helpful and I have generally had most of my issues resolved reasonably quickly. Naturally, when your customers are down it can be quite frustrating so this is the most important thing to me.

    Regards,
    Aaron
