Question 99.99% uptime for Dedicated Server?

WHB guarantees 99.99% uptime for dedicated server.

Check out my uptime report. It's not that good.

Every time when my dedicated server goes down, I am the one who must go running to the live help and ask them to notify the tech guys.

Don't WHB have some kind of uptime monitoring software that automatically notified the tech guys to check on it if it's down for an "x" amount of time?

Safvan seems to be avoiding this questions as well. Emailed 5 days ago but no reply. Posted this question at Dedicated Server forum, and wasn't being being posted out.

    Raymond,

Feel free to send questions to me.

We guarantee 99.99% network uptime but obviously the applications and software that you install on your server can affect the hardware uptime.

It's not possible for us, or any other dedicated server company for that matter, to guarantee uptime on a dedicated server where you are free to do pretty much what you want....

We monitor all servers at 60 second intervals. If something comes up, we look into it, just as we do with shared servers.

    Raymond,

Just another thought. What monitoring intervals do you have Pingdom set at?

I do agree and understand that the applications and software that we install on our server can affect the hardware uptime. I do check my Service Status from cPanel. The server load is always low and memory is at an acceptable percentage (20%)...

I set Pingdom to check at 1 minute intervals. I get email and SMS notification when there's 10 consecutive timeout. That's 10 minutes. A reboot shouldn't take 10 minutes... So if the server is down for 10 minutes, something is wrong.

Did you guys missed out monitoring my server? I ask because always I am the one that is notifying the tech guys on the downtime.

I had our team check, and they said it's all being monitored.

Email me so we can discuss and resolve to your satisfaction... the forum isn't the best place for this.

There was a 17 minute downtime just now. Guess what:

    1. Tried to access WHBsupport, The connection has timed out
    2. Tried to access WHB live chat, WHB page shows Authentication page
    3. All left is this whbstatus site and I have no idea how should I contact you all about my site downtime

Luckily I remembered that I can reset my server. Logged in to IPMI, reset and within a few minutes it's back up. After reset my server, I went to CPanel and it said "License File Expired: cpanel.net: LTD: 1200476882 NOW: 1009844700 FUT!"

Seems like there's no 60 seconds interval uptime check on your side. Or maybe the tech guys aren't paying attention? What happened to WHB main website?

I'd like to know what's the cause of today's 17 minutes downtime again? I am 100% sure that the downtime would be much longer IF i did not reset my server.

Please clarify. I am your customer, you should contact me via email/live chat/phone call.

IMPORTANT: My dedicated server time seems to be wayyyyy ahead. I can't post anything in blog and forum. I checked my control panel and it says "WordPress 2.3.2 — 2189 days ago". That's wrong! Logically, the time screwed up the Cpanel license too.

    Now how did this happen?

Matt, Gnax said that they are working on a problem with one of the core routers.

In the meantime, can you help me fix my server problem?

I am closing this thread. You have my email address - the forum is not the space for specific issues like this, as I have repeatedly stated.
