Default Tuna fish and web hosting...

We are changing our toll free number as we are getting a better rate with another provider.

While testing the number (apparently this is suppose to be a brand new number) today, Jef received a call about a lady inquiring about her can of tuna fish.

Now if this is going to be a daily routine, we should think about launching tuna-centric shared hosting (a word jef came up with)..

Basically you get a free can of tuna fish if you buy one of our shared hosting plans. I wonder what we can offer our resellers and dedicated hosting providers?

    Hows the idea?

It's probably too late now, but you should be able to transfer your old toll free number to the new provider with the better rate. BTW, is the rate 2.7¢ or less? I ask, because that's my business! I help people transfer their toll free numbers all the time, or help them get new numbers, and even vanity numbers that spell their business name.

To be honest Jef handled all of it so he would be the best person to answer here.

Please do ask him to contact me because I have a great idea for a vanity number that he could get. I don't charge for securing the number, you only pay for the usage on the number, plus $1 per month.

Also, remember, no toll free number, especially if it's an 800 number is a "new" number. It's a number that someone else has retired, so that is probably why you got the tuna fish call.

My contact info is on my web site, or he can PM me.

Erm thats interesting to hear about 800 numbers. You mean to say all numbers have been used?

All 800 numbers have been used and once they started running out they introduced 888 numbers, then 877 numbers, and now finally 866 numbers. Getting an 866 number is the best defense against getting a recycled number, but even then you have no guarantee. You can almost be guaranteed that when you first get a toll free number, there may be some wrong numbers coming in for the previous owner. Unfortunately, it's just a fact of life and you will have to pay for wrong number dials like that. I've had my 800 number for about 8 years and would not even think of changing it right now. But I do remember getting wrong number calls when I first got it.
