Heh. You just aren't going to post first in the forum anymore?

I'm still amazed the Wii motion controller had any degree of success. I'm not sure it did, since I think it came with all versions, but I suspect there were a few people that bought it thinking they would actually use it a lot. This is just a fancier version of that. But, lacking tactile feedback, it will enjoy only a very moderate success. People want to know that what they just did had an effect, and they want to know it immediately. Having to wait several seconds for the Kinect to acknowledge a button press will get frustrating very quickly.

It will be more interesting to see where the tech takes us in a few years when this is available cheaply on every TV and PC. By then the response times will have gotten much snappier and people will begin to think of some really novel uses.

I have a PS3 and an X360, sadly both gathering dust. Can't remember the last time I turned the Xbox and I don't think this would entice me to use it more...

My understanding from what I saw and what I've read is that this new system does not suffer from the response lag that Wii did. Even if there is still some lag, I'm sure that will improve as the technology matures. There are so many possibilities for this, well beyond gaming, that it will be interesting to watch developments.
