I definitely agree. I remember working on cars with my brother and dad as a kid. Now, I look under the hood and don't even want to touch it.
I think the last car of my own I worked on was my 1973 Chevy Impala. Been a while. My Dad could only barely tolerate me hanging around when he was working on his 1936 Ford Coupe. Alas, it was destroyed in a garage fire years ago, but see there's a whole darn Flickr group now: http://www.flickr.com/groups/426073@N21/
Note the "rumble seat" in back. No seat belts. The most fun any kid could have!
PS Why is our attachment quota set to an uber-low 100K (about two jpegs)? Disk space is cheap these days.

Oh sorry, that's a picture from the web. Dad's was being restored when the fire broke out. No clue if any actual pictures exist as that was 20 years ago.

Oddly, that thought never occurred to me until just now. But you may be right. He died a couple years later so I guess I'll never know.
