An interesting confluence of factors seems to be driving early adoption on these. Cheaper displays and touchscreens, ubiquitous Wifi, and ebooks are three factors that quickly come to mind. Tablet computers aren't new, but these other things are.
I understand it's impossible to get work done on one, but I'd like to have one by the bed to check the TV Guide or IMDB on impulse. I'll go as high as $100 for something like that. If it could intelligently keep itself charged so I didn't have to worry about it.

I have a Galaxy Tab (as do a few others in our team) and love it. Wake up in a morning and quickly browse through emails/issues/current events before starting my day. Going away just for a few hours? Why pack up my laptop bag when I can grab my Tab and keep in touch that way?
Good for leisure stuff like watching movies on trains/flights too.
Matt:
What lead you to choose the Galaxy rather than the iPad?

I already have an iPhone and wanted to try Android. That was my main reason.
Was the smaller size of the Galaxy a plus for you, versus the much larger iPad?
