I dunno, they just sound like a midrange class of laptops. Call them anything you want, but I can't see a tablet or high-end notebook user going for one.
But I've been wrong before. I'm still amazed they've sold so many notebooks without keyboards!
If they are as good as advertised, less than 20mm thick (the first one, Asus, is only 17mm), less than 2 lbs., and with fast processor, I think you'll be surprised how well they sell. I know so many people tired of lugging their laptops, but netbooks aren't quite powerful or elegant enough.
Most of the people I know with tablets, and most whom I've met, use them mainly for entertainment and browsing. They include a touchscreen keyboard, but I wouldn't want to do a lot of typing with it. For me, an ultrabook would be a much better choice, as I make much of my living with writing.
