    Default Newbie Windows 7 phone owner - email help

    I have never had a problem setting up email from my webhostingbuzz accoun on various PCs and even on my previous non-smart phone. But I am stumped by the Windows 7 phone. I have tried typical variations in the required fields on the phone, with no luck. Below are the items requested -- I've entered what I think I should put in there, plus the alternatives I have thought of. If it woud just tell me which item(s) are wrong, it would be easier to fix! Any help is appreciated!

    Account name: My name,or username, or username@domain.com, or username+domain.com
    Username: short username (or username+domain.com)
    Password: email account password
    Domain: domain.com (or www.domain.com)
    Server: Listed on the manual settings on Cpanel. I tried both the secure and unsecure ones listed
    Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection - I've tried both checking and unchecking this
    Logging: Choices are Off, Basic, Advance

    Thank you.

    Account would be the full mail account name you assigned when you created the account, normally in the form of username@domain.com

    Is the Windows phone e-mail setup for POP or IMAP?

    Yes -- you can set it for POP or IMAP - it seems quite flexible, but the instructions are vague. Thanks for your response.

    Hello,

    Basically, you just need the following settings in order to configure absolutely any email client:

    incoming/outgoing server: yourdomain.com;
    ports: default (25 for SMTP, 110 for POP and 143 for IMAP and their secure versions);
    SMTP authentication: enabled
    username: user@domain.com (some clients use user+domain.com).

    That's basically it. In case these settings don't work in your phone, this is most likely a connectivity issue on your end, perhaps the necessary ports are blocked in your network connection.

    On a related note, in case you have trouble accessing your hosting account's mail, don't hesitate to contact us via Live Chat (or the ticket system) at anytime, we are available 24/7.
