media question.
Hi,
I'm currently looking to start a personal website. I have read the AUP, and I have a question regarding this part:
Disk Usage Provision:
90% or more of your content on your website must be linked from an HTML or similarly coded web page where all content is freely available to the public. Your website consists of web pages of a standard design, essentially HTML based text and graphics. Downloadable files, media, streaming content or any file which consumes more than 500kb of space must not exceed 10% of your total used disk quota.
I was wondering if it's ok to have more than 10% of the total used disk quota as media files, if the files are private and not made public. The reason is, I want to upload my musics and listen to them while I'm at work through adobe flash player streaming 1 song at a time.
Thanks!

Hi,
You can't upload any copyrighted music, but if you own the rights to the music, you can do this (so long as it doesn't break this 10% barrier).
Maybe an Ipod is a better way to do it though?

Well, I work as a software developer and my company doesn't really allow you to listen to your ipod at work. But the way around this is to listen through the pc, because some of the training requires the use of headphones. Of course I'm not intended to use the web to stream 8 hr continuously.
Another questions, does the Disk Usage Provision applies to photo? I also want to add photo gallery, and intended to HD jpeg image, those are probably less then 1mb per photo.

Web accessible photos in a gallery are fine.
