I like the idea, and LXAdmin looks awesome!

Any chance of having the LXAdmin control panel as a choice instead of/along with CPanel for regular shared hosting accounts?

I like how they have their files tab, and they've got a TON of installable software!

We're only offering LXAdmin on VPS products for the moment.

I have a reseller account with you guys, and have been a customer for many years. I also have a VPS with another company. My experience with VPS wasn't so good. 128 MB of ram really isn't enough for a web server 256 is barely enough. I was using Parallels Power Panel...will your services also use that? I'm excited to see WHB now offering this service!

We've tested at 128MB and with Cpanel, it runs all services at a decent level. The new verison of Cpanel is much lighter.

We will not be using Parallels. Right now we're using Cpanel, HyperVM and possibly Direct Admin in future.

Ok Taras O has brought this thread to my attention, and the prices i have seen in the PDF file are "somewhat" appealing.

Now i noticed 128 Ram... is this sufficient enough to run my 15+ domains? I havent dealt with web servers before and i am trying to relate it to my own PC.

512 ram isnt sufficient enough for the tasks i do on my PC and with 1gb RAM now i can feel the strain and need an upgrade soon.

Correct me if im wrong.. with web servers the correlation between running website as oppose to applications is very different to a PC? I have 15+ domains and growing, some of which are forums with many members on them. I also plan to run a shoutcast radio server...

Now bearing in mind what i have said above will 128 RAM be sufficient enough for me do you think?

Prices starting from $34.95 is just a lil steep for me, if i did go for it i estimate i will be making roughly a loss of $10-$15.. however if i can obtain a few more customers (which i hope i will in the next few months) then i will certainly go for this.

When are these prices likely to change and do you have an ETA or a deadline for which i will need to get my name in the bag to be entitled for the above quotes?

    Cheers

There is no correlation betwen you needing 1 GB on your PC and what is needed for an account on a web hosting server.

I'll let WHB Support speak to the specifics.

128MB is the bare minimum but all web services will function at this level. The next package is quite a cheap upgrade (which we planned) so you can upgrade quickly and easily without downtime when you need additional memory.

These prices are not introductory prices and will be available indefinitely.

I understand 128mb is the bare minimum, but do you think it will be enoguh for 15+ websites and a 2/3 moderately active forums?

    How about shoutcast?

Yes, it will be okay for 15+ normal websites and some active forums. For shoutcast, if it's moderately busy, I'd advise a higher spec VPS.

Hmmm we've had shoutcast from elsewhere and the most we've had for the small communities were 15-20 listeners.

With regards to control panel i am familiar with cPanel but i want to save as much money as possible... lxadmin how is this compared to cPanel? Is it more difficult or easy than cPanel? Any chance of a demo i could see and try out?

Question What is the difference between Business & VPS plans.

Please tell me, what are the advantages we will get, when we switching from business hosting to VPS.

    regards,

VPS gives you a virtual root environment so you get root access and the ability to customize services/software as you wish. As it is a virtual root environment, you will not be affected by someone else abusing resources or running a bad script and such.

I am very intersted in VPS... It has been suggested that by going VPS or dedicated, the servers are more apt to be PCI compliant. Is this true with webhosting buzz? Also, by going this avenue, is it geared for a newbie who knows nothing about scripts or installing software only worked with WHM/CPanel?

I am looking to use your VPS for the new YUMA Enterprise Server, but that require 1g of memory. Do you have plans that offer that amount of memory?
