Default Do you consider personal use library illegal?

Obviously, posting music files ripped from CD's into publicly available sites is illegal-but as far as I can see it's not illegal to post such into sites that are available only to those who are legally entitled to download the songs. In this case it would be me. I'd like to post my music library online, probably into an FTP site, from which I could download songs whereever I am.

It's not illegal since I own the CD's, but I can see the practical problems of administering this-so I'll put the question to you, would you allow this or not?

    Thanks.
