    It's $30 year extra on shared packages but all reseller packages include a dedicated ip address.

    What are the advantages for a non-commercial user in having a dedicated IP?

    Yes, the OP may be asking the wrong question, depending on their level of expertise.

    My own (admittedly amateur) understanding:
    With any package you get a website with a fixed IP address. Behind the scenes, you're sharing it with lots of other people on the same server, but as far as your users go, they can reach you by entering "www.youraddy.com".

    Unless you need SSL, nothing. It's also worth noting that if you're using a dedicated IP for SSL, we're not charging anymore. If you just want one for the sake of having one, we charge $20/year.
