Default "Unlimited web sites" but no transfer

I don't get it. If whb will "host unlimited web sites" under the budget hosting plan but you cannot transfer any of these web sites... how do you do that? I want to host several existing domains. You seem to be saying I cannot let you host those existing domains but it is unlimited. Maybe what you mean to say is the number of domains I can pay to register with whb is unlimited, right? So you only host new registrations that start out with whb.

Probably the best answer is that some time in the future whb will be full service and be able to transfer domains. Until then, I have to renew all my registrations with my old registrar for another year. If I don't renew them or find another hosting company to transfer them, I loose them.

We can host any number of domains for you, we just can't transfer domains with our current registrar. If you'd like to add a domain that isn't with our registrar to our server, simply point to our name servers with that registrar, and add the domain as an addon or pointed domain. Note that you have to point to our name servers first, because the cPanel parked domain wrapper won't work if the domain isn't pointed to our server.

Please bear in mind that with the shared hosting plans, multiple site hosting is done through addon domains. This give the extra accounts limited functionality.

If you need true multi-site, then a reseller account gives each account you create it's own Cpanel login.

Jef S. Are you sure you need to point the nameservers to WHB before adding the domain? I just did this, with the help of WHB support and appear to have successfully added my existing domain to my new one without changing the nameservers-yet. (The purpose is to get everything set up first, then change the nameservers. So I know the addon domain isn't 'functional' yet, but it now exists.)

I did, initially, get an error referencing the nameserver problem, but WHB support was able to fix it-perhaps this is a recent change?

It's good practice to do it that way, but it isn't essential.

If you don't change the DNS first, you will need to revisit the domain's DNS zone (through WHM) to make sure that the correct NS are in there.

WHM will use the current published NS for a domain when it create the account and it's associated DNS zone file.
