Is there any hope for an upgrade to MySQL ver 5 without having to switch servers or accounts ?

I'm on shared9 which is running MySQL 4.1.22 (as of January 2011). Joomla 1.6 requires MySQL 5.0.4 at a minimum. When will shared9 be updated to MySQL 5?
