I'm not sure about Panda, but on Planet you have a choice. In cPanel there is a link called PHP Configuration in Software/services, you can choose in there.
AFAIK, PHP5 is available on all servers and has been for a long time. Default runs as PHP4, but all you need to do is either use the php5 extension or make a simple entry in your htaccess file if you want to force all .php files to run with PHP5. That information has also been in these forums for a long time, so you could have found it if you used Search.
Hmm okie..
its a bit annoying having to use the php5 extension though -__-
cant a switch just happen?
i cant get close with my basic shared hosting lol
These PHP configuration settings are customizable by the server administrator. They are listed for reference only.
haha
It should be the other way around, so PHP5 is default and up to date, with 4 as an option =]
My suggestion.
Thanks for the heads up!

It's awfully simple. If you don't want to use php5 extension, just add an entry to your htaccess file. Takes less than a minute. I don't know what a tiny hosting plan has to do with anything.
PHP 4 and PHP 6 should be optional right now. PHP 5 should be the default.
Actually, if PHP4 is still slated to be abandoned 8/8/2008, and thus uninstalled entirely, then it's past time to start defaulting to PHP5 and making PHP 6 optional.
PHP5 is the default on new servers.
Older servers will have the default switched on August 8th. PHP4 will probably still be supported, just to help clients out.
PHP6 support will probably come in towards the end of the year, unless we see massive demand for it.
Oh ausom, well for the time being i'll change my htaccess file =p
Thanks for the quick responses!
// Edit
Ok, so i have tryed 2 differnt Lines added to my htaccess, but it dousnt seem to work, each time i load a php file it trys to download it instead hmm
can someone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks
