    Hello kethdiaz,

Yes, you are correct. VPS is a virtual machine running on a carrier server (a powerful machine with multiple processors and a large amount of RAM). One carrier can host multiple virtual machines at once, while distributing resources between them. Basically, it's a way of splitting one server into several 'virtual' ones.

We use two virtualization technologies for VPS hosting plans, oVZ and Xen. You can learn about their differences on our Wiki: http://www.webhostingbuzz.com/wiki/v...rvers/xen-ovz/

A dedicated server is a machine, hardward that you have all to yourself. The main pro of a dedicated server is improved performance, as compared to a VPS, while the main con is much higher price. So, if you are in need of an isolated environment on a budget -- VPS is for you.

when you choose to go with VPS or dedicated make sure you understand what you need exactly.

If your resources needed for website is high and if you have good bugget go for Stable Dedicated server and make sure it should have the space to inprove the configuration and resources too

VPS are ok with start up and can run for while but when it comes to stables resouces and uptimes may be dedicated is the good option as even the VPS has well configured and managed .. at last its shared on some cloud/cluster/dedicated fox

cost does matter a lot with compare with the stability of the resources.

In VPSes you are sharing bandwidth,RAM, CPU cores, Port with other fello customers.

In Dedicated Server you will get resources dedicated to you only. So you are not sharing RAM, CPU cores Bandwidth with anyone,
Dedicated server is mostly recommednded for the huge traffic sites.

For functions they two have the similarities, vps like a part from dedicated servers, dedicated servers more stable and with larger traffic.sure enough dedicated servers will be much more expesensive than vps.

VPS servers cost far less than a fully dedicated server as you donít need to buy any physical server or incur costs on managing or maintaining your server. VPS servers allow you to pay as much you use, on a monthly basis. So you pay only for what you have used never charging for anything extra.

VPS(Virtual Private Server): The users of VPS have the ability of accessing their own virtual space. In a common server they are allocated a special virtual space. It is advanced than shared hosting and more access to server.

Dedicated Hosting: In dedicated hosting services the user gets full control over it and can access the root/administrator panel. The user is responsible for the security and maintenance of the server. Dedicated servers are very expensive.Best suited for large organizations or business.

When choosing a host one should look for the reliability, reputation, support that the host provides.By looking through the user reviews one can get clear idea about the host because it will contain honest feedback. The host should satisfy the customer's demands without any hidden charges.

A dedicated server is exactly what it sounds like. The entire physical server is yours to use, and yours alone. Depending on whether you want it to be self-managed or managed by the hosting company, you can do pretty much anything you wish with the server.

A virtual private server is server software that runs in a virtualized environment that shares hardware and storage. Meaning, your site will occupy a virtual machine on hardware thatís also hosting other sites.

A dedicated server includes the power to:

    • Manage the actual hardware.
    • Maintain control over the storage.
    • Monitor and manage the server however you like.

    While a VPS share:

So it means a dedicated server a lot better, right?

Yes but at a much higher cost. You pay for what you get.

A VPS is like living in a hotel room. You have your own doors, walls and private bathroom. You have the privacy of your own room and you more or less can do anything you want.

Virtual Private Server has its own dedicated slice of the CPU, RAM and disk space. So basically, what you do will not affect the other VPS on the machine. You can reboot your VPS anytime you want and you will have root access.

With a VPS the resources of the server will be split between different websites or hosting accounts. Think of it as a home computer that has many different users, all of who use the machine in different ways
A dedicated server is a server that’s literally dedicated to your own personal use. You’ll have rights to all of the resources of the machine, and you’ll be able to configure the hosting environment however you wish.
