    Default wordpress index?

    hi,
i'm an absolutely newbee on this.
I just installed wordpress with Fantastico.
    no problems.
I can access to my login in wordpress and edit posts and so.. but no way of finding the proper index.html from wordpress.
I know i have to replace the default index.html but i do not know with which other file should i do it.
it has to be i guess pretty simple.
    many many thanks.

    Default wordpress index??

    hi
I just changed index.html location (to a backup folder) and now, that public_html has only index.php, wordpress works fine.
    Is it normal?
is it going to make any kind of further problems?
    Thanks a lot

    Dear Quique,

You did everything right. Your index.html file was actually the reason of the problem.
The thing is, that according to our webserver`s Apache configuration index.html file is processed sooner, than index.php. So if you have both index.html and index.php in one folder, index.html will be of a high priority.

In case, you have any other questions, feel free to ask them

Noticed the wiki is locked (new users can't enroll, working as intended?)... The WordPress update procedure is technically correct, but since version 2.6 automatic installation of an update to WordPress is possible without the admin playing with the Webserver files.

May want to mention that at the top of the Update tutorial before a user starts doing more work than they may have to. (There are situations where a modded WordPress installation has additions that break this functionality, so the manual update would still be necessary.)
