    Default index.html

    hey,
i'm pretty new at this. i'm trying to set my blog up but i find it frustrating that i can't edit it as the html. i mean i want to be able to add sections on my own, on the blog page but i don't understand and know if it's possible. for example, how do i manually add a <div> let's say on the blog...i wish i can edit the source code of the blog, but there is no index.html in wp-content folders.

the 'title' that you enter from within the wordpress dashboard automatically links to the blog's link http://example.com/blog, but what if i want to add a separate section with links?

    please help

If you are using wordpress, you add additional pages under the "pages" category. I advise you don't edit the files themselves until you become a wordpress pro... it is designed to be managed/modified through the wp-admin interface.

the thing is, pages link to within the blog. so if i make a page called 'home', it only lets me have a link like: http://example.com/blog/?page_id=109

it doesn't allow me to make it into something like: www.google.com

Let me Clear you, wordpress is a CMS which does not generate physical pages ,but it creates them using database.

Now when you create a page like

    http://example.com/blog/?page_id=109

This is Non-SEF version of URL

    To make it something like

    http://example.com/blog/anypage.html

You need to add up Plugins in Wordpress.

One i can recommend is "ALL IN ONE SEO"

Going to give you Google Friendly URLS.

You can also Hire A pro, as there are lots of things to be done with wordpress.(ie themes, sidebars, plugins, widgets and many more)

Although wordpress is among the best CMS available (Joomla is Good Indeed)

    Regards
    Xaurav
