Magento Use Help.....

Well, after much mucking in, I have a Magento Cart system setup on my server with site, 98% skinned and the content is nearly ready to go, however I have questions that I am hoping some lovely users can help me with!

First question;
Can someone tell me how Magento tracks Stock when you use sizing options (clothing related) on the item you list?
Is there something I am missing as we have entered items, with a choice of fabric weight and size.
Two weights, and Three sizes.

But can Magento actually track them this way, or do I need to list that item 5 different times, with each weight/size combo as a seperate item to allow stock management?


Second question;
Can someone tell me how you enter stock quantities?
Each time we have a shipment arrive to us, do I need to individually edit each seperate listing or is there a place I havent found to enter incoming shipments?


Third question;
I have one item which will ship free, how do I set this up?
I allowed free shipping, now it wants to allow it to be selected on all items, but this wasn't the plan. How do I force the free shipping on the one item, but stop it being an option on everything else?


Last question (for now LOL);
Has anyone any experience in setting up the main page to be more useful....
I'd rather it wasnt just 'text' but I can't figure out how they add in things like featured products etc.
What am I missing????

Thanks hun, but their documentation is rubbish I'm afraid

I've been through it all every which way but can't get my questions answered.
It's most frustrating!
I even have the proper manual and it's not much more help.
