    Lightbulb Server load very high

Too many server load problems on rs9 in the last two weeks. Why?

I don't want to hear that... I just got setup on that server yesterday!

Hope it is not another Milkeyway issue... That almost made me leave, permanently. (Double edge blade, that is also what made me stay.)

Someone has an overzealous cronjob, or fully dynamic website on here. (I also suspect that the C-Panel might have something to do with some of that. I have had it lock-up and get confused when creating "New Files", being empty, they don't like to show in the list. Refreshing does nothing. Attempting to recreate the "Apparently missing file", creates a dead-loop of errors. File exists, but file name is not present as it tries to create a file that already exists.)

Noticed a few dead-lock settings in WHM also. One link just freezes the entire panel, and eventually times-out, but boots you in the process. Noticed the CPU flip up into HIGH when that link was clicked. Time to revise that MX record link that does that.

Do you have any ticket numbers that I can reference? We haven't seen any performance issues.

All new servers are 8-way CPUs with 8GB of RAM and they are damn quick.

    Default tickets

See tickets PYR-863934, UOQ-328472, NZM-667005. Today for example the server load was more than 40 and the memory usage over 80%, then the server was down for almost 1 hour

Had that issue also, seems to be fixed now... Running smooth at 6.1 CPU use.

Hehe, you have all my tickets! (Most are closed now.)

A++ for speedy response. B++ for resolution. (Had trouble logging in the other night, refused many connections, but eventually connected.)

I was helping a new client setup E-Mail.

Now I am ready for SSL!

(I noticed that it connects better when you connect through the https://rs9.whbdns.com:2087 for WHM and 2083 for the C-Panel.)

Is there a way to leave a notation in a clients account?

Like... "This guy is trouble, always over limits."
or... "Account created on 12/24/07, paid until 3/24/08."

Would just make the console more functional, if we had those at our disposal, or even better... setting an expire date, and reminder notice.

Time for WHB to create a "Full Web-Hosting Console", based off WHM.

    rs9 down again:mad:
In the last 4 days some subdomains did not work, a whole directory disappeared from the server.
This will be the normal behavior from now on at whb?

Rs9 is up as far as I can tell. Im asking the tech to look into your server.

Okay an account was causing load issue on it. We have suspended it so the server should be performing fine now.

I am on rs9 and it has been flakey for almost 2-3 weeks now. Is there no way to simply suspend an account automatically that is going over CPU usage limits? The only people who will complain about that are the ones causing the problems in the first place.

So much for good-times... I feel like I am back on Milkeyway again...

Server running fine for websites, but c-panel and WHM are not getting through...

Time to compare your config files from server to server... One setting or more is out of whack. CPU hit over 49.02 today, and memory over 80%. Several httpd and ftpd crashes, continually.

    Could this be an exploit?

I say that because I just saw POP fail twice in a row... Got an open-relay mass-mailing somewhere, or a cron-job mailing a black-hole on the root.

(I told you, that WHM created an e-mail for my first accounts as, email-email-email-email-email-email-email-email, and it might be doing that for others. Eventually, it created the correct one. Hard trying to resolve that domain!)

rs9 server load is running high again and FTP is also down, so whatever account you suspended isn't the only cause of the recent problems.

    Server Load 64.45 (8 cpus)
    Memory Used 89.8 %
    Server Load 12.31 (8 cpus)
    Memory Used 26.2 %
It is still server load very high today, i don't know why your memory used no high, but server Load very high.

if you can't solve this problem, can i move to your new server rs10 or rs11?

It hit 49.59 earlier before everything crapped out.
