So I'm trying to host my site with an external MySql DB. Yes I know I can host it locally but I can't make a MyODBC connection to it and it's too big to update using PhpMyAdmin.

So in CPanel I added it as a "Remote Database Access Host" but I still can't access it. Do you guys need to poke a hole in the firewall for it? Is there something else I should do? If there is something else, where is it documented to I don't have to bug you?

I opened a ticket for this but haven't had any success getting help yet.
