    Question Wordpress 2.6 - Can not change theme name - HTTP 500 error

    My practice blog is - www.marbleheadllc.net -

    I can not seem to change the name of the theme I worked on in the style.css (Starkers theme is a bare bones Wordpress theme) -

    Original Theme Name ---

    /*
    Theme Name: Starkers
    */

    I changed it to ---

    /*
    Theme Name: Marblehead
    */

    When I did change the theme name, and saved in WP-admin, it gave me a HTTP 500 error message. I could not even get back into the Designs --> Theme Editor page - until I went in and manually changed via FTP - the style.css back to it's original theme name.

    I visited a blog and was told that it could be my Web host provider(?). I actually re-installed WP and reset everything - I am still coming out with the same problem -

    I know I don't have a bad WP-install --- anyone else come across this problem with a solution???

    I know I can not be the ONLY one with this type of problem? Or, am I?

    Hello vividly1972,

    If you provide us with your admin login and password for wordpress in the ticket we'll investigate the issue. And once we have updates we'll update the thread with the reason, so that could be avoided in future if possible. Thx.

    Try clearing your cache if you are using a wordpress cache plugin. I did the same thing with a theme and it worked for me without complications.
