Question Adding Subdomain, Root Directory forced to /public_html

I want to add a subdomain and put the Root Directory outside of the /public_html folder. However, when I type the subdomain's desired root directory and hit "Create," it still shows up as a subdirectory of /public_html. I know this can be done, as I did it once before and didn't have any issues. I am not necessarily looking for a fix, but rather I am wondering if a policy change was made by WHB or if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

I got confirmation from the Helpdesk that CPanel's last update now forbids creation of subdomain root directory's pointing to somewhere outside of the public_html folder.

Presumably that's because only /public_html is intended to be publicly viewable. If you had a root for a sub-domain that's outside /public_html, the sub-domain could never resolve.
