Unhappy How do I make an add-on domain independent?

    Hi all,

I'm not sure if I worded that question right but...

I have a host that allows add-on domains and
I am pretty sure it's possible to not reveal that
    my add-on domain is in a sub-directory/sub-domain

    How would I accomplish that???

    I was trying the 2 or 3 re-direct options
in c-panel but it didn't seem to work...

Right now if I go to my site

    hxxp://MYSITE.com

The main site page will come up as

    hxxp://MYSITE.com

But if I go to a sub-dir, it will show

    hxxp://XXX.OTHERSITE.com/FOLDER

Can I fix that to only show

    hxxp://MYSITE.com/FOLDER

    PLEASE HELP!!!

    All Input Is Appreciated!!!

    Jamie

Just click to addon, put your new domain, and it will create a folder for you with the name you want.
Use this folder to hold your site.

End (I did by this way and no problems).

if the above post is hard for you i can simplify it. when you redirect that will happen there isnt a host in the world that will let you do that... BUT cpanel has a feature you want to use

    Login to Cpanel
    Addon Domains
    Put in your domain

In your ftp you will now see public_html/DOMAIN
place your files there and it will show up. And it will work how you want. because on a server your site is actually http://IP/~user/FILE so its just like MYSITE.com redirecting to that. Just follow the above steps in both this post and one above mine.
