ImageMagick & IP renumbering fail

As soon as our old IP numbers were removed (http://www.webhostingbuzz.com/forum/...html#post20435), we started seeing errors on our vbulletin forum (Ticket ID: EHU-211526 12/29/09). That issue was unresolved, but I simply switched off the relevant option in the affected modification and hoped that would be it. However, when users tried to upload images yesterday, they were unable ("invalid file" errors). I just checked my logs and this was the first day since the switch-off that anyone actually tried to upload. The last successful upload was 12/25.

Currently tech support has looked at it again (Ticket ID: ISL-129766 1/3/10) but is again unable to solve the problem.

So I thought I would ask if anyone has any idea why switching off old IP numbers would affect ImageMagick this way?

PS I've switched to GD for now, and the forum seems to work without ImageMagick, but I have an awful feeling we may be playing whack-a-mole until the basic problem is fixed. I dunno, I think I mostly used IM for better captcha, but I haven't used that in a year anyway.

Thanks, yes that seems to have fixed both problems. For posterity, Vladimir said he " removed necessary ImageMagick functions from disable_functions list" and set a global php.ini to assure we're running PHP5.

I can only vaguely recall what problem we had that caused someone to knock us back to PHP4 a while back. Anyway, strange this should manifest the same day the old IP numbers were cut off - it seems totally unrelated.
