    Default Down again!

RSSG2 is down, AGAIN! OMFG! You are kidding me? WTF people? I've had numerous calls from clients in the past 5 minutes... WTF is going on?

With all due respect... you people (WHB) need to get your sh*t together. This is NOT the way to run a business.

I don't know who the hell you are... but you need to mind your own business... you have no right or need to judge me, ESPECIALLY since you are obviously some sort of uneducated moron, who doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're", or "lighting" and "lightning", or the fact that "aftershock" is one word, not two; let alone the proper usage of phrases such as "could have", as opposed to your public school based attempt of "could of".

I realize you will have no idea to what I am referring, but sadly (for you) that only reinforces my point.

You're not so smart yourself. I actually type fast and don't give a flying f**k how I use words. You make typos too.

Admin, please delete this thread. It has been hijacked by the noob, and is pointless for anyone to read. Thank you.

Another damn power issue. We are equally frustrated here, our colocation facility in Atlanta that has given us 3 years of good service has 2 power issues in 2 weeks.

More info whe we have it.

    Unhappy Not again...arrrggg

Down twice in two weeks is not a good sign. My accounts are due for renewal next month and I'm seriously considering going elsewhere. What ever happen to 99.99% uptime as advertized. GET ME OFF THESE DAMN ATLANTA SERVERS!

For the majority of 10 hours today my sites have not been working and I have not been able to get my emails even. I am going to have to recontact everyone I been expecting emails from because I can clearly see that I have lost multiple emails during these last two weeks.

Sorry to contact you again on the same issue but did you get my email? Did you respond back yet? If so could you resend it because my web server lost some of my emails this week. Oh you no longer have it... lovely. What a pain in the ass to have to do this many times over.

Over two weeks ago I joined the WHB affiliate program and was going to write a WHB Web Hosting Review article. After all of this over the last month I can not honestly recommend WHB until I see some major improvements in uptime. Too bad because I may have been able to generate some sales, but I value my reputation more.

Heres to another day of no profits, lost advertising revenue and emails gone forever. Thank God I only have one customer to deal with. I truly feel sorry for those who have to deal with multiple irate customers.

And literally as I was typing that my sites came alive again. And I can see that emails I know for a fact were delivered during the downtime that are not there. Only one made it through. And at least 4 *that I know of* did not including the newsletter I really would have liked to of seen.

Edit Ok I got these latest emails. But not the ones from a week ago.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: I do not work for WHB and I am only speaking as an affected customer here.

    Hi, MyWebs,

All the e-mails that you did not get during the downtime should be delivered. Every server has its query period which is of 3-4 days. What I mean is that when the e-mails in the attempt of getting delivered from one server to another fail to be delivered, they become queued. after some time the server tries to deliver them again. and so on and forth. and this query period is valid for 3-4 days. so basically your e-mails should be delivered.

Please let us know if any assistance is needed.

And once again, our sincere apologies about the situation.

Ok so what happened to my emails from a week ago when this happened???

Oh I KNOW!!! They were lost! Oh yes this is not supposed to happen, well guess what, it did.

The lost emails suck, but what about another 10 some hours of downtime today alone?

Data Centers should have redundant, security, cooling, bandwidth and power supplies. First line of defense is battery backup that kicks in instantly. Next up is a diesel generator. 3 power failures in 1 month is crazy.

Every time there is a power hickup this software RAID takes days to rebuild. Like 3-5 days. This is the biggest problem here.

It seems to always be something here lately. I don't watch the news and really don't care at this point what happened. Data centers are supposed to be built so these things do not happen. And when it does happen so often this tells me there are serious issues with this data center. Either its not designed properly or it is mismanaged.

Tell me PHPLab are you on this affected server? Have you been affected like others have?

You are starting to really annoy me when you tell me what to do. I never meant to be rude to anyone here. I have not cursed at anyone. I am frustrated as many others are. I am upset as some others are. I really don't need you jumping in the middle here telling me what I should or should not do. Especially when I suspect your not even going through this. I do not know what your motive is here but I really wish you would stop it and mind your own business already.
    Thanks,

I can understand the power hit is the base cause of the problem but the real kicker is the 24 hours it takes to do the FSCK and RAID rebuild. Can something be done so that these aren't needed each time the power fails (even for 1 second)?

PS, a suggestion to others regarding emails. Yes email is down for the entire duration (eg 24 hours), but mail forwarding is not. I have all my email forwarded to another account (Yahoo) so that I can receive all email as usual and if necessary reply from my Yahoo address.

    David.

99% of email servers will continually attempt to redeliver.

Have you thought about perhaps using Google Apps as a backup for email? We can setup the MX records.

I have all of my MX records setup so that Google Apps for Domains handles my emails for all of my web sites. If WHB was serving up this MX record during downtimes then my emails should work if I really understand how things work. None of my emails should ever be touching a WHB server.

I don't believe I can setup any type of forwarder with my setup. But for others it sounds like a good idea.
