Please accept our sincere apologies for the temporary inconvenience.

The server has been recently rebooted due to critical overload. Unfortunately we were forced to disable some of the services: POP3, IMAP and FTP to speed up the RAID rebuild process and guarantee Apache normal operation in the meantime.
Technicians are working to bring the server back to usual mode as fast as possible. We will post further updates in the following thread:

Is it possible to move off of this server? Like the title on this thread mentions, there have been issues with this server (outage or performance degradation) every 2 or so weeks for the past few months. The RAID rebuilds take a couple of days, which causes the performance degradation to last even longer. Is it possible to get off of this server? If so, how?

We can only transfer you to another server in case you decide to upgrade your package. During the maintenance it will not be possible to carry out the transfer procedure, so we will have to wait for RAID rebuild to be completed.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to you or your company. Please keep in mind, that this was a one-time issue and we will be doing our best to prevent this from happening again.

yes it is ok now. Do you not have any back up system to handle this situation?

    Hi,

We have the RAID installed on all our servers, so it allows us to provide high level of fail safety for HDD subsystem (that's why it is necessary to keep RAID in actual state). If a server is is not rebooted gracefully, data on the units included into the array becomes out of sync. And RAID should be rebuilt after such power-off/reboot to synchronize the devices.

Also we use independent HDDs which contain backups which we do on daily basis. So, in case a piece of data on the main storage system is corrupt we can restore it from backup HDD.

Moreover, we are upgrading storage systems on our servers to RAID10, which provides faster access to data besides redundancy.

However, if a server was powered off aforesaid RAID rebuild and file system check should be performed, otherwise all these actions will be pointless.

There is clearly something wrong with this server. It had to be rebooted again today and is still having problems. Is there any way to get moved off of this server to one that is more stable? This level of service is below industry standard, and unfortunately, it has become the norm for this server.

Your company has always had great customer service, but the BuzzSG3 server is doing your reputation a disservice.

We are doing our very best to improve the stability and performance of this server, and migrations to a different server are offered ad-hoc. More news on this shortly.
