    Default IPv6?

I'm currently in the process of configuring my local networks to IPv6. I noticed that WHB does not resolve to IPv6 addresses. I was wondering when we can expect our webservers to be IPv6 capable?

At this moment we support only IPv4. We are pretty much dependent on cPanel for this. When it becomes IPv6 compatible, it will be possible for us to use IPv6.

I guess I'm a little surprised to hear this. Even WHB's main site and support sites don't appear to be IPv6 compatible. As far as the cPanel issue, I just setup my local networks with an IPv6 Tunnel and everything seems to happen at the root or driver configuration level. Current estimates put the date IPv4 depletes at 7 or 8 months. I don't wanat to be the one without a chair when the music stops.

I'd prefer to see WHB take a proactive approach to this, rather than just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

(That's enough cliches for one post.)

At present there are enough IPv4 addresses for all our clients.
Currently cPanel doesn’t support IPv6 completely, but as soon as it becomes compatible with version 6, we will start implementing IPv6 on our servers.

    http://www.cpanel.net/2011/03/ipv6-i...on-update.html

"Much like Y2K, this issue requires a proactive solution rather than a reactive response. That is why cPanel has been working diligently to implement IPv6 support into our products since version 11.25."

Um, I hate to tell you this, but IPv6 have been around for a very long time. We knew the IPv4 pool was drying up and they have the nerve to say that in the last 3+ months they started taking a "proactive" position? Google, Facebook, Netflix, have been IPv6 compatible forever by comparison. I just hope the solution is up and running by World IPv6 day. "Proactive".... LOL

Please don't get me wrong, I understand WHB's position, you can't use features that don't exist. But out of curiosity, is the remaining infrastructure prepared for the update when it is finally released?

We are waiting for better compatibility from the LAMP stack and cPanel. Our networks in each data center are IPv6 compatible already. We do have plenty of IPv4 space left though.
