    Default October uptime figures

Business3 server that I'm on had several outages in October. Network card issues plus mysql crashed.

Strange that whb is claiming 100% uptime for the server.

OCTOBER 2011 UPTIME FIGURES | Official WebHostingBuzz Company Blog

For October the server was down for 20 minutes or so which is 99.9537% against a SLA of 99.99%
Another 10 minutes down yesterday so November can't be more then 99.9769%

On top of this we also experienced several network outages/go slows that I haven't included in my calculations.

    Can anyone explain the discrepancy?

    Greetings, DaveTheShark

We sincerely apologize for giving you wrong information earlier. The thing is that in process of requesting the information, it was accidentally shown the period of last 7 days, not last month (ref. October). That's why you have seen such numbers.
As for the network outages, etc. the server is considered to be down only when it doesn't respond to network. If server services have low interactivity, it can be a result of the server or network overloads. This is not regarded by the monitoring system as server downtime and as well as a crash of some database under the MySQL service.
Thank you for helping us to figure out the mistake!

I can understand the reply from whb but i must say ive been expeiencing the same issues and more and i find it hard to belive that none of it would be calculated into uptime, but i see my server as 100% to (rs17.abstractdns.com100.000%). I came on here because ive been so upset about the downtime and wanted to write about it so to find this thread without even looking has really peaked my curiosity. i still plan on writing a new thread about my specific issues, but still very interesting..

ALSO... this is the first time that ive ever seen the uptime statistics... out of curiosity does whb have any target or promise of an uptime percentage for re-seller or other types of hosting? the only one i see is 99.9 for dedicated, and does that 99.9 factor in the previously mentioned non server issues?
